After Mouse Tweaks is installed correctly, most of its value comes from learning a few gestures. You do not need a complicated workflow; the mod is built around familiar mouse buttons and the scroll wheel.
Start with a simple chest and player inventory
Open a standard chest so you can see two inventories at once. This makes it easier to understand whether a gesture is moving items within one inventory or transferring them between the two.
Practice right-click dragging
Pick up a stack, hold the right mouse button and drag over several slots. With the tweak enabled, passing over a slot again can place another item there. This is especially useful in crafting grids and evenly spaced storage layouts.
Use left-click drag for matching items
Try the left-button behavior with a stack in hand and then with no item in hand. Mouse Tweaks can accelerate operations involving matching stacks and, with a modifier such as Shift, can help transfer multiple stacks without clicking each one separately.
Learn wheel push and pull behavior
Scroll while hovering over an item stack and observe which direction moves items into the other inventory. If the direction feels backwards, adjust the Mouse Tweaks wheel direction setting instead of relearning an uncomfortable pattern.
Build muscle memory gradually
Use one gesture at a time for a few sessions. Once RMB placement and wheel transfer feel natural, add shift-drag behavior. The mod is most useful when the controls become automatic rather than something you have to consciously remember.

- Use Minecraft: Java Edition.
- Match your exact Minecraft version.
- Match Forge, Fabric or NeoForge.
